RtI and the School-Wide Behavior Model
Response to Intervention or RtI is a process that involves establishing a continuum of support for all students in academics and/or behavior. Although the primary focus of RtI in the last few years has been at the elementary level, there is a growing interest in applying the process to secondary schools. This will consist of study teams of 4-6 people consisting of principals (required), teacher representatives, school psychologists, counselors, or school social workers. The AAESA will purchase a book for each group to review entitled RTI in Middle and High School: Strategies and Structures for Literacy Success.
