In the first half of this session, Dr. Anne Thorp, Director of RMEC7 will show what REMC offers to all of Allegan County teachers including their booking system eVideon, Discovery Intermediate and the updates on the site, MeL, TWICE, and ASK. After lunch Anne will lead the participants in a hands-on workshop focusing on Discovery Education, TWICE and ASK Author videoconferences. Discovery Education provides streaming videos that integrate with content expectations as well as free teacher tools on their website. There will be a drawing for 2 $150.00 certificates for TWICE video conferences. ASK ("Authors Specialist and Knowledge") is an organized process that provides students with the opportunity to interview an author or a subject specialist in the topic they are reading about in a novel. The program uses excellent literature, journal writing and interview to promote reading for understanding. Eash ASK project cost $40.00 though REMC. Lunch will be provided.
