Technology Workshop Category After School Subcategory
The goal of the HIMBY project is to promote local historical landmarks with technology. During this introductory session, teachers will learn how to create a content rich placemark in Google Earth and Google Maps. The long term goal of the project is for teachers and students in Monroe County to create short videos that feature area historical sites. These videos will be shared on a Google Maps page and will be featured on a county-wide website to promote these landmarks. After this session, teachers interested in continuing with the HIMBY project will have an opportunity to collaborate with the MCISD social studies consultant and instructional technology specialist on a classroom HIMBY project. Even if you have used PowerPoint before you may not be familiar with some of its advanced features. In this session you will learn about Action Buttons, drawing tools, editing clip art, adding music, sharing your presentation online, and more. NOTE: This session will be conducted on PowerPoint XP (also known as PowerPoint 2002). It is NOT for the most recent version, PowerPoint 2007
