General Category After School Subcategory BLOCKS is a program designed to provide early childhood professionals the opportunity for professional development in monthly "blocks" for easier accessiblity.Full Day Subcategory START Modules are open to all educators that are interested in improving their interactions and educational opportunities for student diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The four sessions focus on strategies and techniques that you can begin to use the very next day. The topics addressed include an overview and the use of universal supports, behavioral supports, modifying and accommodating the curriculum, and visual schedules.Half Day Subcategory START Coaches trainings are open to all START Coaches. Sessions will include Brain Rules as peresented by Jonh Medina, Technology and ASD, Transision and ASD, and Updates to START. Participants will receive in-depth training to enhance their understanding and teaching techniques in working with students with ASD. |

General Category Full Day Subcategory
Monroe County Educators will be trained in nonviolent crisis prevention techniques including verbal and physical strategies. Day 2 training looks at student performance data at the school and classroom levels. What, exactly, do individual student know? How do we know what they know? Once we know, how do we help individual students to improve? What support will teachers need to help individual students and whole classes? How can administrators use this data in developing student programming and in supporting staff? This day long training will focus on an overview of RtI for school-based teams. They will learn the core principles of RtI. The teams will develop an action plan for RtI delivery in their school.
